Zahra Borjian is the founder, owner, and managing attorney of Borjian Law Group, licensed in California and successfully practicing law since 2006.

Her legal expertise extends across a wide spectrum, notably including Business Litigation. Recognizing her litigation abilities early in her career, Ms. Borjian was recruited to join a nationally recognized law firm where she represented clients in complex business litigation matters involving contract disputes, commercial torts, and other high-stakes commercial controversies. Today, she draws upon that experience to represent businesses in a broad range of litigation and regulatory matters, including defending companies against California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) claims and other privacy-related lawsuits. Her unique combination of large law firm training, in-house counsel experience, and courtroom advocacy enables her to develop practical and effective strategies for resolving complex legal disputes.

 

Ms. Borjian currently serves as General Counsel for a leading telecommunications technology company, where she advises on regulatory compliance, complex litigation, privacy matters, and commercial transactions. In this role, she provides strategic guidance on sales, service, and customer experience initiatives while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. She regularly counsels businesses facing regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, including matters involving the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state attorneys general, and assists clients with proactive compliance reviews, civil investigative demands (CIDs), and other government inquiries.

 

Ms. Borjian has developed significant experience in California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) compliance and litigation, successfully defending and resolving claims involving website technologies, session replay software, chat features, call recording practices, and alleged wiretapping violations. Drawing upon her extensive litigation, regulatory, and in-house counsel experience, she helps businesses implement legally compliant customer engagement technologies while developing effective strategies to defend against privacy-related claims. Her practical understanding of the evolving privacy landscape enables her to identify legal risks early, mitigate potential exposure, and pursue favorable outcomes when disputes arise. In addition to her regulatory and privacy practice, Ms. Borjian also counsels other companies seeking advice on complex privacy laws. She helps companies navigate the data protection and security landscape, including under the CCPA, federal legislation and guidelines, biometrics laws, and COPPA/laws relating to children.  

 

What distinguishes Ms. Borjian is her direct involvement in every case, from inception to resolution, and her dedication to building personal connections and trust with her clients. She is also deeply committed to pro bono work, offering her legal services to low-income clients without compensation. In addition to her legal career, she holds a Real Estate Broker License and has contributed to education by leading seminars on Legal Research and Writing.
